Websterville, VT -May 4, 2007 — Highland’s commitment to it’s employees and their safety was recognized by Governor James Douglas.
On April 18,2007, the presentation of the Governor’s Award for outstanding workplace Safety, in the Small Company category, was made to Highland Sugarworks. The ceremony took place at the Capitol plaza Hotel in Montpelier, Vermont and capped off a moming of seminars being given to Vermont employers encouraging their support & cooperation in this effort to make all workplaces healthy & safe.
Highland Sugarworks was founded in 1986 by James Maclsaac. With a staff of dedicated employees, it has become a company-wide project to improve the safety levels throughout the business. With everyone’s involvement and cooperation, it has shown itself to be a success based on the presentation of this award.
